Frequently asked questions

Click the "Post a link" button in the top bar of the main site, paste a URL, and we will automatically extract the title, description, and image. Choose a category and hit submit. Simple.

Links may be rejected for a few reasons: the URL is invalid or unreachable, the content is behind a login wall, it is a duplicate of an existing link, or it violates our content guidelines. We do not accept affiliate links, spam, or NSFW content.

Currently, links cannot be edited after submission. If you need a link removed, contact us on X with the link details and we will review your request.

Yes. To prevent spam, there is a short cooldown between submissions from the same device. If you hit the limit, a countdown timer will tell you when you can post again.

No. linkstream does not require accounts, passwords, or logins. We use anonymous session identifiers to enforce rate limits, but we do not collect personal data or require registration.

When you submit a link, our system tries to auto-detect the best category based on the content. You can override this during submission. Categories include News, Video, Music, Podcast, Social, Tech, Dev, Science, Design, Shopping, Sport, Finance, Writing, Reference, and Web.

Clicking a title takes you to the original article. We also record anonymous clickout statistics to understand which links are resonating with the community. No personal data is collected.

Yes. linkstream is completely free to use and always will be. We do not run ads or sell data.

Not at the moment, but we are exploring RSS feeds and embed widgets for the future. If this is something you want, let us know.
