Newcastle council vows to keep fighting as Government withdraws Staffordshire shake-up decision

Ministers have pulled July's plan to merge Newcastle-under-Lyme with Stoke-on-Trent, but say reorganisation is still Government policy, with a new outcome due in early 2027.
